Joseph V. Bencivenga, CPA. Certified in New York State in 1963. Member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. Spent most of his professional career in public accounting, having worked for the firm then known as Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Company on its audit staff; the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, as a manager of senior technical committee on auditing procedure; and other committees including bankers and credit grantors, colleges and universities, health care institutions, and legal liability. Also staffed the technical services inquiry functions while at the AICPA. Established the quality review function at a national accounting firm. Co-founded Bencivenga & Company, a New York City-based CPA firm, which evolved into the present firm of Bencivenga Ward & Company. For three and one-half years administered the tax department of a national CPA firm that specialized in providing services to real estate enterprises.
